Talk It Over Therapy
Discover meaning and purpose with the help of a confidential counselling service with BACP therapist Nick Greene.
Hello, my name is
Nick Greene

Thank you for visiting my site. The fact you are here means there is something troubling you, and looking for help is a positive step in beginning to work it out.
Seeking out help can feel like an overwhelming and daunting task, particularly if you are also currently in distress, but taking that step can lead to amazing positive change in your life.
I am a trained, qualified Counsellor and a member of the BACP and adhere to their Ethical Framework and supervision requirements. I strongly believe one of the most important aspects of therapy is down to the relationship and trust between us.
This is why I invite a 20 minute free consultation to ensure we are a good fit and comfortable working together, and to establish what you need out of therapy going forward.
I offer a safe and confidential space to explore what's going on for you in a compassionate, respectful and non-judgemental environment. Together we’ll work out what you need from our time together.
Depending on your circumstances, location and preferences we can work in-person, online or by telephone, whichever feels comfortable and convenient for you. I would also be willing to discuss home visits.
I practice in a Person-Centered and Integrative way, which means I am focused on where you want to go in therapy and, if appropriate and in collaboration with you, we may introduce other tools and techniques if we believe they may be of benefit.
I feel this is the best way forward as everyone's issues, how they feel about them and how they are affected, are as unique as the individual themself and therefore the approach or way of working can be tailored for you and your needs.
Thank you for viewing and please continue to explore my website to find out more about me and how I work or just get in touch for a free, no obligation, informal chat about what's going on for you.

About Therapy
The NHS defines counselling as a "talking therapy that involves a trained therapist listening to you and helping you find ways to deal with emotional issues."
Counselling, also known as therapy, is a form of 'talking therapy' that provides a safe, confidential space for people to explore their problems and feelings. While the experience can vary from person to person, it generally involves taking time to reflect on your thoughts and emotions, whether you're seeking change or simply looking to gain deeper self-awareness.
Unlike giving advice or telling you what to do, a counsellor's role is to guide you through your own experiences, helping you uncover root causes and patterns of thinking. Together, you may develop a plan of action - either to resolve challenges or to find effective coping strategies.
For many people, the simple act of speaking openly in a supportive environment makes a world of difference. In daily life, expressing feelings can sometimes impact relationships or how others perceive us. Therapy removes that barrier, offering the freedom to explore your thoughts without judgment or consequence.
Counsellors don’t typically provide quick fixes or direct solutions. Instead, they empower you to gain personal insight and develop a clearer understanding of your struggles. By equipping you with tools to address your challenges independently, counselling fosters long-term resilience and self-reliance.
It’s important to recognize that counselling is a journey rather than a one-time solution. Progress takes time and commitment, which is why many choose regular sessions to fully benefit from the process.
Through counselling, you can build a stronger understanding of yourself and the way you think, ultimately making it easier to navigate difficulties and view situations from new perspectives. This awareness can not only improve your relationship with yourself but also enhance how you relate to others, promoting more positive interactions and clearer communication.
